Happy Paul Goldschmidt vs. a lefty day. On a day where I am not too crazy about the pitcher props, I love pivoting to Mr. Goldschmidt to take care of business for us. 

What a season it has been for Paul. He leads the league in batting average, third in home runs, and third in RBI. He is truly in contention for a triple crown in the NL as he is 3 homers behind Schwarber and 2 RBI’s behind Alonso.

If he keeps matching up against lefties, he really could pull it off. Versus southpaws this season Paul is batting .435 with 20 extra base hits (9 home runs) and a .413 ISO. 

The Cardinals travel to the infamous Wrigley field tonight. While Paul is better at home, it is hard to find a weakness anywhere you look. On the road, Paul is hitting .315 with 32 extra base hits and a .250 ISO. Night games have also been incredible for Paul as he has hit .345 with 39 extra base hits and a .267 ISO. 

Tonight, he faces off against Drew Smyly. Smyly is enjoying a decent season, but right handed batters have been very strong against him. He has allowed a .276 average with 24 extra base hits to righties. Goldschmidt has faced Smyly five times in his career and has 2 hits in 5 at bats. Smyly mainly throws curveballs and cutters vs RHB, two pitches that Paul crushes. 

While the wind will be blowing in at Wrigley tonight, I still love the Cards to have a nice night offensively and Goldschmidt should be at the center of their success as usual.
