Atlanta Braves vs. Chicago Cubs Pick: Braves Team Total Over 4.5 | -120 at DraftKings

2:20 p.m. ET

The Braves are riding the best winning streak in MLB with 14 straight. In this stretch, they’ve scored a scorching 101 runs or 7.2 per game.

They haven’t been facing the toughest competition, but that’s not changing tonight. The Cubs are on a parallel 10-game losing streak where they have given up 90 total runs or 9 per game.

Keegan Thompson, who will be starting on the mound, is one of the better options but has really struggled in his last few outings. The bullpen won’t be much help either, posting the second-highest average ERA in the league at 4.95.

All in all, it’s a perfect storm of teams on opposite trajectories for one to score a ton of runs.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Cincinnati Reds Pick: Brewers -1.5 | +146 at DraftKings

6:40 p.m. ET

Coming off a tough series against the Mets, the Brewers are looking inconsistent lately. They broke the eight-game losing streak they compiled earlier this month but haven’t been able to consistently hit.

Luckily, they have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball and that’s kept them close in the race for the NL Central. And the pitching matchup is what makes this such an appealing pick.

Hunter Greene is a strikeout machine, but unfortunately the impressive stats end there. He has a high hard hit rate and a 5.1 ERA over 12 starts. That includes two starts against the Brewers where he’s only made it eight innings and surrendered 10 earned runs.

On the other hand, Eric Lauer is putting up a nice start to the season with a 3.36 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. The Reds haven’t been able to face Lauer yet this season, which typically favors the pitcher as well.

Beyond the starters, the Brewers have a stark advantage in the bullpen, with an almost 2-run difference in average ERA.
