2022 Wyndham Championship Picks, Predictions & Best Bets
Tony Finau has dominated the last two weeks of golf — winning back-to-back tournaments and setting tournament records while doing so.
Fortunately for this week’s field, Finau is taking a much-deserved break having clinched his spot in the top 10 of the FedExCup Playoffs and all but locked up a spot on the Presidents Cup team playing this September.
FedExCup Playoffs start next week and will feature the top 150 golfers in the standings following the conclusion of the Wyndham Championship. A win for any player on the outside looking in would be enough to land a spot in the playoffs — everything is on the line.
For the last tournament of the season, the PGA is teeing it up in Greensboro, N.C. at Sedgefield Country Club for the 2022 Wyndham Championship, the Tour’s only stop in the Tar Heel state.
2022 Wyndham Championship Event Information
Dates: August 4-7, 2022
Course: Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, N.C.
Purse: $7,300,000
Defending Champ: Kevin Kisner
The Wyndham Championship is one of the Tour’s oldest tournaments. Having been played since 1938, it was started as the Greater Greensboro Open and has been played in the Greensboro area every year.
It is a 72-hole, stroke-play tournament, with a cut after 36 holes down to the top 65 players and ties. The weather will be something to keep an eye on this week as the tournament could see rain every day but Thursday.
What Course is the Wyndham Championship Held at?
The Wyndham Championship is held at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, which has hosted the tournament since 2008.
Opened in 1926, the course, like last week’s, was designed by Donald Ross. It is a par 70, 7,131-yard course that should yield plenty of birdies with the last five winners averaging over -20 to par.
Distance off the tee shouldn’t play a huge factor but accuracy will. The greens are small and undulating so setting up a good approach shot and accuracy to the green will be major stats to watch this week.

How Many Golfers are in the 2022 Wyndham Championship?
The tournament field is composed of 156 players consisting of four of the top 25 and 14 of the top 50 Official World Golf Ranked players in the field this week.
Who has the Best Odds of Winning the 2022 Wyndham Championship?
Three golfers currently share the best odds to win the Wyndham Championship, Sungjae Im (+1600), Shane Lowry (+1600) and Will Zalatoris (+1600).
Corey Conners’ play was made for this tournament. He is in the top six for driving accuracy, top 26 for strokes gained: approach to green, and top 10 in greens in regulation.
If he can get the birdie putts to drop, he should be a lock for the top 10 this week.
Webb Simpson is currently on the outside looking in for the FedExCup Playoffs so he needs to have a big week to solidify a spot. He is accurate off the tee, which will help this week and it will come down to how accurate he is from approach to green.
With everything on the line, I think Webb finds a way to get it done and clinch a spot in the playoffs.
