The 2022 Memorial Tournament was Billy Horschel’s to lose heading into Sunday at Muirfield Village and he never let it slip. It wasn’t the prettiest final round 72 but with the help of an incredible 50 ft eagle putt on 15, he finished 4 strokes ahead of the field for his 1st win on the tour this season and 5th top-10 finish.
This is his 7th career win and what an honor it must have been to do it with Jack Nicklaus waiting to congratulate and shake his hand on 18.
This week we are headed north of the border, to Toronto, Ontario, for the RBC Canadian Open — the tour’s first and only stop this season in the Great White North.

Purse: $8,700,000

Serving as Canada’s national open, the RBC Canadian Open has been held annually since 1904, making it one of oldest tournaments played on the tour. The tournament has been on pause due to the pandemic, it was the only PGA Tour event canceled twice, making its 2022 return all the better.
We will finally see a return of “The Rink”, Canada’s answer to Waste Management Phoenix Open’s “Party Hole”. The par 3 16th’s tee box will be lined with hockey boards and the volunteers working the hole are in referee uniforms. Did I mention there are Mounties involved in the trophy ceremony? It’s good to have golf back in Canada.

What Course Is The RBC Canadian Open Held At?
St. George’s Golf and Country Club is located east of downtown Toronto and is regarded as one of Canada’s best courses. Designed in 1929 by the great Stanley Thompson, the course is on the shorter side, at 7,014 yards par 70 with wider fairways but doesn’t give on much else.
The course was built to incorporate the area’s natural hills and valleys which will lead to very few flat lies for the players to hit from this weekend.
The greens were recently rebuilt and in addition to the massive undulations they feature — are extremely fast. Most greens will be guarded by bunkers and surrounded by thick rough, so players will likely need to rely heavily on their approach and around the green shots, over their drivers this weekend.
