J.T. Poston has been quietly rocketing up the FedEx Cup standings for the last two weeks. Heading into the Travelers Championship, he was sitting at 111th. He tied for second at the Travelers Championship and won at the John Deere Classic, which moved him into 22nd.
This week’s win was completed in wire-to-wire fashion finishing 3 strokes clear of the field, it is his first Tour win this season and second of his career.
Poston was not the only one celebrating, as Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Emiliano Grillo both earned a spot in the 150th playing of The Open next week after finishing second and third, respectively.
This week, the Tour heads to the home of golf playing at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland for the Genesis Scottish Open. This is the Tour’s debut co-sanctioned event with the DP Tour, Europe’s top-tier golf tour.

Defending Champ: Debut PGA Tour and DP Tour co-sanctioned event
As the first co-sanctioned event of its kind, the Genesis Scottish Open will feature players from both the PGA Tour and the DP Tour, making it one of the strongest fields on the Tour this year.
The tournament is the last tournament in this year’s Open Qualifying Series and the top three finishers who have not already secured an exemption to this year’s Open will land a spot in the field — that’s so long as they finish in the top 10.
What Course Is the Genesis Scottish Open Held At?
The Renaissance Club was opened in 2008 and was designed by Tom Doak, a student of the legendary course designer Pete Dye.
It is located along the coast and was designed to use the land’s natural features to challenge golfers with uneven lies and forests of pine trees guarding landing areas and approach shots.
The last five tournaments played at The Renaissance Club have had an average winning score of just under -17 but weather can always play a factor in changing that — the course is located along the coast and could have wind gusts over 30 mph on Thursday.
