Former Star NFL RB Marshawn Lynch Arrested for DUI on August 9

On Tuesday, August 9 ex-NFL star running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department on suspicion he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Lynch, 36, was pulled over near the Las Vegas strip at 7:25 a.m. PT Tuesday.

“The LVMPD conducted a vehicle stop at Fairfield Avenue and West Utah Avenue (near Wyoming and Las Vegas Blvd) on a driver, later identified as Marshawn Lynch, for suspected driver impairment,” LVMPD said in a statement.

“Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that Lynch was impaired and conducted an arrest. Lynch was transported to the Las Vegas City Jail and booked for driving under the influence.”

This was reported by the LVMPD on their official verified Twitter account.

Records show that Lynch’s bail was set at $3,381. They also show that Lynch was cited with a failure to refuse/surrender, a failure to drive in a travel lane and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Marshawn Lynch was selected to the Pro Bowl on five occasions, and was a one-time All-Pro selection. He played 12 seasons in the NFL from 2007-2019, having stints with the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders (now Las Vegas Raiders).

He ended his career playing for Seattle.

This arrest comes a day after the Seahawks made an announcement regarding their broadcast team for the 2022 preseason. Lynch was to be special correspondent. That is no longer a certainty following his arrest.

As of writing, no statement has been made by Marshawn Lynch or his team.
